Here are the General ACA rules which we have adopted. For any unoffical local ACA tournaments, rules will probably be modified slightly and posted in a new thread:
The ACA RulesAs with any game or sport, rules are put in place to ensure the integrity, fairness and safety of each team and/or player participating. Here at the ACA, we've structured our rules to adhere to the nature of airsoft. Competitive, team based, exciting and safe. Each rule has been considered carefully and has a specific purpose for being in place.
General
1.All players must be 15 years old or older. No exceptions.
2.Only 5 players per team are allowed on the field during games.
3.All teams must have a “Captain” play in each game.
Uniforms and Apparel
1.1.Teams must utilize uniforms. This could be something as simple as wearing the same camouflage or same color shirts/pants. There must be uniformity to your team. If you are playing with a pick up team, arm bands will be provided for your team during game play.
2.Thick jackets, hooded sweatshirts, or any other thick clothing will not be permitted. This is to ensure hits are felt and to prevent overheating. Over excessive gear (as seen by the referee's) is prohibited as well.
3.Clothing, patches or any other accessory that displays crude or crass remarks, curse words or indecent images are strictly prohibited.
4.The ACA implements a strict full face protection rule. Each player is required to have closed seal eye protection with non-cloth face protection (no neoprene). There is no exception to this rule.
5.Mesh eye protection is limited to the restrictions of the individual field. Depending on the field, they may or may not be allowed.
6.It is recommended that players utilize hand, ear, neck and knee protection during ACA game play.
Equipment
1.1.Players must adhere to a specific ACA Class System loadout. Players are not allowed to change classes during game play.
2.For outdoor field play: All airsoft guns must shoot 3 consecutive shots (out of 6) below 401 feet per second using .20 gram BB's in order to be used in ACA game play. (Tier 4 weapons excluded).
3.For indoor field play: All airsoft guns must shoot 3 consecutive shots (out of 6) below 351 feet per second using .20 gram BB's in order to be used in ACA game play.
4.Tier 4 weapons must shoot 3 consecutive shots (out of 6) under 501 feet per second using .20 gram BB's in order to be used in ACA game play. Tier 4 weapons are only allowed during outdoor field play.
5.There is a minimum engagement distance of 75 feet for players using Tier 4 weapons.
6."Home-made" equipment is not allowed.
7.Grenades must expel BB's to count as a "hit". Dummy grenades are not allowed. Noise making devices are allowed, but will not count as a "hit" unless they expel BB's.
8.C02 powered guns are not allowed. C02 noise making devices are fine.
9.Melee equipment must be made out of flimsy rubber or plastic with no sharp edges or points. Players may not throw/stab/slice at other players. Simply tap the players shoulder with the item to indicate they are out. Melee items cannot exceed 12 inches in length.
10.Mid-capacity magazines must hold 200 BB's or less to be used in the ACA.
General Gameplay
1.1.ACA referees will always have the final say in any situation. If players disrespect the ACA referees in any way, that players team will immediately forfeit the game and exit the field. If the problem persists, that team will be asked to leave for the day and will forfeit all points/standings earned.
2.Players will show respect to other players. Any sign of disrespect shown on or off the field will be dealt with immediately and severely.
3.Players caught deliberately not calling hits or not following game rules will immediately have their team forfeit the game for the first offense and be ejected out of the season for the second offense. Individual offenses affect the entire team.
4.Players may not call the opposing teams hits. If a certain player is playing questionably, simply inform one of the ACA referees and they will observe that player.
5.Except for Tier 4 weapons, there is no minimum engagement distance. There is no "Surrender", "Bang! Bang!", "Parlay", etc. rule. It is first hit, first out. If players are shot within 1 second of each other, both players head back to respawn. Players will use semi-automatic when inside buildings or when within 15 feet of each other. Any players caught deliberately engaging other players at close distances using full automatic will be ejected out of the game.
6.Players may not reload magazines or grenades with BB’s during game play. All reloading must happen in the designated staging area.
The Bump, Hits and Respawning
1.1.Each game will start with "The Bump". Teams will stand face to face in the middle of the field. This gives the ACA referees the chance to look over load outs and answer any questions regarding the game. Each player's ACA class patch must be visible on their person. When the game is ready to start, teams will show respect to the other team by bumping fists, high fives, etc. before walking to their spawn points.
2.When the teams arrive at their spawn points, they must stand behind the spawn box. The first buzzer is for the scouts to start the game. The second buzzer is for the rest of the team. If you are not a scout, you start on the second buzzer.
3.If you are hit anywhere on your person, you are out and must go respawn. Equipment hits count if you are in direct line of fire. Ricochets only count if it's from a grenade. Once you are hit, you must immediately stop what you are doing, yell "HIT! HIT! HIT!", raise your weapon in the air and run or walk back to your respawn. If there is someone in your respawn box, you must wait until they respawn to start your respawn count (if you are a medic, you may jump in front of the line and respawn immediately).
4.To begin a respawn, players must be standing inside the respawn box. Once the player steps inside the respawn box, they begin counting out load starting with what class they are. Example: "Scout! Two! Three! Four!" etc. They count to the appropriate number depending on their class. Once they reach their number, they can re-join the game. Players may not swap magazines at the respawn point. Only on the field during game play.
5.Players that are respawning may talk to eachother. They may NOT talk to players still on the field. This includes any form of communication.
6.Every game played in the ACA is an unlimited respawn, objective based, time limited game.
